The Rev. Tom Baker Called as Rector of St. Margaret's, Lawrence
St. Margaret's, Lawrence announced on Sunday, August 11 that the Rev. Tom Baker has been called to be the next Rector of the congregation, effective September 25.
Sr. Warden Steve Knoll stated, "On behalf of the search team and vestry, I am delighted to announce that Fr. Tom Baker has accepted our call to be the next rector at St Margaret’s. With over 30 years of experience as a chaplain and parish priest, Fr. Tom has many characteristics that will make him a great fit for our church. He is humorous, compassionate, and friendly; passionate about relevant preaching, meaningful liturgy, pastoral care, and formation for all ages."
Fr. Tom said, "I’m excited to join the dynamic and dedicated people of St. Margaret’s in worship, ministry, and outreach to the community. This is a full-circle moment for me. Years ago, l began my ministry in the Episcopal Church at St. Margaret’s in Arkansas."
Bishop Cathleen Bascom said, "I am so pleased that Fr. Tom will become the next Rector of St. Margaret’s. His rich experience as a chaplain and rector as well as his kind and loving nature will be a blessing to the congregation, which is a vital source of mission in Lawrence."
